My New Robos - 'Head Spot' and 'Pure White'

    Hi Guys,

I have finally found the time to properly introduce my newest Robo additions.

At the beginning of November I exchanged some hamsters with a friend of mine from Czech. The Robos I had from her were very special as they were another new colour that we didn’t have in the UK, so I was very excited to get them!

In some European countries these robos are being called ‘Snow Bears’. I am not sure why they have been called this as I don’t think it describes them very well, but I have also heard them being referred to as ‘Head Spot’ Robos, so this is the name I prefer to use, and it does describe them very well!

In November I obtained two Head Spot males:

‘Snow Bear’ (thought I should call my first one this!) and ‘Little Spot’:

    And three Head Spot females:

    ‘Diamond’, ‘Ivory’ and ‘Frost’.

Then in December Andrew very kindly bought me back a little female Head Spot robo from Houten. She is still quite young, so still small, but she only has the very slightest mark on the top of her head in between her ears instead of a big spot like the others - ‘Little Luminous’:

    All four girls:

As you can see from the photos the spots of their heads vary a lot, so it will be interesting to see what babies each one will produce. I have been told that these Head Spot robos are ‘created’ by combining the Dominant Pied gene and the Recessive pied gene, so it will be very interesting to see what happens with them.

I was also very lucky to be able to get my hands on two of the Pure White robos which are ‘created’ when they receive two copies of the Dominant Pied gene and two copies of the Recessive pied gene. I must say I think these Pure White robos are absolutely beautiful and I think the reason for this is because are completely White – they have no under colour and no black on their ears! They are all White and are really stunning!

My friend from Czech bought me over ‘Arctic’ and Andrew very kindly bought back ‘Polar Bear’ for me in December. These two have now been paired up, so hopefully a litter of Pure Whites will be on their way soon!

I must thank my friend in Czech and also Andrew so much for bringing them back for me.

Please see the following album for more photos of them all:

well robos sure have changed a lot in a few short years huh? It isn't that long ago that husky robos were rarely seen and now all these new sports are popping up!

The babies are beautiful Tammy, Ive never seen anything quite like them, and I truly adore the little head spots!
