Hi Teresa, I went to Harrogate yesterday, and showed my pet hamsters and got 1st & 3rd but was informed these are hydbrid, i was speaking to tuftyfluff hamsters about trying to get some purebred campbells, i am in north lincolnshire, quite close to you. do you breed the campbells or winter whites. Can you advise where the next local show is. I used to show guinea pigs, but have been breeding the hamsters for a year now and would like some purebreeds.

  3. Hi Teresa,

Do you have any litters at the moment, that might be ready for the Kingswinford show?

    Thanks, Maddi
  4. Wellcome home, hope you had a great time. Just thought I would contact you as I was wondering how the little male Lilac was doing. I had to give my best" the one i kept from the mating from Pumpkin and Syringas " away as after I took the litter to the Rotherham show, she developed a kinky tale so she know lives with a family member. I can keep an eye on how she would have developed. Sorry you have lost 2 hams, they look lovely in the pics you have posted. Can I ask which ham is your main pic on the visitors page as he or she is gorgeous. I'm still looking for a nice Rec male Sh do you know where I could find one can not be satin. Look forward to hearing from you soon Gary.

Hi teresa. I am looking for a Syrian and wondered if you have any available?
  9. Hi Teresa,

I wrote earlier saying that I am looking for a Dark Grey or Silver Grey male Syrian. I forgot to say that I am looking for a long-haired male.

Please let me know if you have any available or if you know of anybody that would.

    Many thanks.

    All the best.

    Heather.
  10. Hi Teresa,

I am looking for a male Dark Grey or Silver Grey male Syrian hamster.

Would you have one available and, if so, are you going to the Bradford Show?

Rachel (VectisHams) is coming to the Bradford Show and could collect this beastie for me as she is coming to see me in February to collect Bailey the Chinese Hamster.

If you don't have a Dark Grey or Silver Grey Syrian male available would you know of anyone who is going to the Bradford Show that might?

    Many thanks for your help.

    All the best.

    Heather.

Recessive Dappled Project Blog number 2

by Teresa on 23rd November 2011 at 10:11 PM
Well an update is called for I think! Wunderbra and Wulverine were mated on 16th November, so if we are in luck then we may have some spotty babies in the nest around 2nd December! Yikes that is not very far away is it?

I am hopeful that Wunderbra is expecting, though it is only a week since the mating, as she has definitely shown a change in behaviour and is very reluctant to leave her nest. When she finally came out for supper tonight I also thought I spied the start of some

Recessive Dappled Project Blog number 1

by Teresa on 10th November 2011 at 08:24 PM
I haven't written a blog in quite a while. Not much has been happening hamster wise to tell you all, as a wedding and work to the house got in the way for much of the year. But now I want to share a little project that I and some other breeders are undertaking.
Early on in the year Andrew of Duncton hamstery imported a male recessive dappled hamster from Timo, Hamsterheutte of Germany. He brought this hamster in with the intention of establishing the recessive dappled line in the UK fancy.

Spring Cleaning?

by Teresa on 8th January 2011 at 11:39 PM
Well, not quite, but having had very little hamster time over christmas and new year due to having a flu bug, I really felt hamster deprived (I have just been feeding/watering the little beasties but no cuddles in case they caught my bug). So today, I took a look at the hamstery and decided that I really needed to have a reorganisation. So off to the DIY store and back home with a new table and shelf unit to free up space and give more storage.
I am quite pleased with the results and it really

We have a new Moderator here at Mad About, but not forgetting our existing mods!

by Teresa on 7th December 2010 at 09:06 PM
Well, although I have already said it in a forum thread, I would like to officially welcome Mad About's latest moderator Internet Nobody who I am sure will do as brilliant a job moderating the forum as our existing moderators do.

I know those of you who personally know our moderators will understand why I am so very lucky in my moderation team, but for those who maybe dont know I thought I ought to explain what makes a good mod and why we feel we have the best!
