Biography

Hi everyone, my name is Kathryn Dale and I am a 27 year old biology and bioinformatics graduate. I love all animals but am completely obsessed with hamsters. I had a five year gap of owning hamsters while I was at university but now I have finally 'got a proper job' I have decided to take up hamster keeping (and some breeding) as a serious hobby. I currently have eight syrians (Girls: Holly, Matilda and Layla. Boys: Ronnie, Lister, Fergus, Harvey and Reuben), four Winter Whites (Whisper, Sadie, Dexter & Jake), two Campbells (Ruby & Opal) and one Robrovski (Rosie).

I currently live with my mum and the hamsters have their own area on the ground floor (we have a 3 story house). Their room is heated in the winter and cool in the summer so they get the best of both worlds. There is also a spare bedroom if I want to expand (I'm sure I can persuade my mum!).

I've not been able to show any of my hamsters up to now but I'm really hoping I'll have some to show in the future. Yes I have roped my mother into taking me to a show or two.. in fact she volunteered! I really need my own transport ha :-)
