Most of the pups are now so big that Bramble lies on her back whilst they swarm over her for feeding. They restlessly wander about the cage and show a keen interest in anything and everything so we placed some fresh food in various areas so they could hopefully all get a chance at trying some. They are not above stealing food from each other if that is nearest.
We noticed that lots of the pups had their eyes open today.
The little runt doesn’t seem any better and so we took the decision to try to ensure that at least she had supplementary food by hand feeding. Before taking her or any of the pups out we carefully rubbed our hands in the cage sawdust to disguise our smell. We took advice and trawled around finding special milk and a dropper for her and she did take some, though it was a long drawn out process. We also fed her some fresh food from our hands and she seemed to enjoy eating this. We did this regularly throughout the day and Bramble didn’t seem at all worried.
